The all in plan - Evohome - Alarm system - IP cameras

Hi All,

After reading around on the forum, I've finally decided that it was time to create my own project topic.
I'm kind of new to the domotica but not to IT infrastructure.

This is what I'm trying to accomplish with Domoticz:

- Honeywell Evohome integration.
- Alarm System
- IP cameras
- some light switches.

At this moment I've installed Domoticz on my windows server and managed to connect my IP cameras to it but the first and main step on my project will be the integration with Evohome.
I will install the Evohome system in the next 2 weeks. ( I'm ordering it this week but for now without the internet gateway or the HGI80 )

Small update..
Installed the Evohome system last weekend and it's almost completely up and running, just need to replace 2 thermostat-controlled radiator valves. (planned for next Wednesday)

I now need to decide if I'm buying the HGI80 or the Internet Gateway ..... difficult choice because the boss (wife) also needs to control the evohome thermostat remotely and she isn’t that technical.
Any advice is welcome. :)

I haven't tested that part yet (suspect in 2 weeks) I'm still hesitating on how I should connect it to domoticz.
There are 2 options one with the HGI80 and the other with the honeywell gateway. Please don't hesitate, all advice is welcome !!

Both have pros and cons but I'm leaning more to the gateway option because the wife will also need to control the thermostat remotely and the domoticz will be more my thing. ( I suspect that eventually I will have both :) )

A bit of off topic but how did you do the different colors of the tile bars?

De bar changes color due to signal of low battery from the sensor. :D

the room setpoint colors are the same as the evohome colors for that zone

the red sensor in my picture is a test sensor it is not seen for a while thats why it is red

I run it with the Internet gateway works a treat and it's the only automation product my missus actually understands and enjoys using :)

i am using the weather underground api

then name the sensor to Outside

in the hardware menu off the hgi80 you see outdoor sensor button
in the menu off evohome connect outdoor sensor and press the button in domoticz

if all goes well you will see the temp

Finally got the internet gateway and it's already up and running.
Now i'm trying to figure out how to connect it to my Domoticz running on windows, has anybody got it working on Windows ?
I've got a spare raspberry lying around somewhere so no problem to run in on Ubuntu if needed but as I've my windows server powered on the whole day I prefer to run Domoticz on it.

Very interesting topic and basically what I am trying to achieve too: OP, thanks for starting it. My alarm system bit is up and running based on Woonveilig using keptenkurk's lua and shell scripts (@ keptenkurk: much appreciated kick-start). I have thought of moving/extending his masterswitch Arm/Disarm approach to Domoticz's integrated security panel (is the latter a relatively recent addition?) but haven't come round to that as the current set-up suffices to detect people home or not situations and switch lights accordingly. I am struggling however with the HGi80: I think to have assigned another USB terminal per the Wiki, but don't see anything activited when plugging it in. Even worse got a few Rfxcom freezes - at least that's how it looked: could switch with Domoticz but no more rfx signals transmitted - which fortunately RPi rebooting did cure. Still somewhat anxious to experiment further as I do depend on the rfxcom running. No light working on HGi80 yet. Would appreciate guidance. Should I first bind EvoHome and HGi80 (read elsewhere that they bind automatically but my experience withEvoHome suggests differently)? Might it be a low USB power situation, given no light on HGi80? Both issues at the same time? @webster: can you perhaps pm me for an offline interaction as you seem to have cracked the nut easily? Can't pm you yet since only just registered. Thx in advance.

I have Evohome connected to the raspberry pi Domo - Works Great despite having to have a script to continually restart domoticz process (Why does it crash sooooo much)
Hikvision cams connected, although not really seen any benefit to connecting them tbh...
Texecom Premier Elite Alarm yet to be integrated.

Couple of lights connected through z-wave and a number of z-wave PIR's, hopefully ditching them in favour of wired texecom units.

My fibaro dimmer has now become a bit flakey with the manual switch only working occasionally!! Unfortunately this has been my experience of z-wave, not reliable!! I certainly wouldn't want to run my security off it.

I am currently looking at control4 as an alternative as it seems hard to find a solution that is one interface/remote for absolutely everything.

With regard to weather, what do you do with the weather info??? Why do you need it???
