Matterbridge plugn for Domoticz for Google Home

i have made (with the help of googles AntiGravity) an Domoticz plugin for Matterbridge


if you install matterbridge ( https://matterbridge.io/ ) then you have an software matter bridge, you can pair it with Google Home if you have matter supported google Devices

in matter bridge you can install this plugin, what it does:

exposes your domoticz devices (z-wave, zigbee or what ever) to google as Matter devices

it supports:

Lights, Outlets, Temp, Hum, Baro, Thermostat, Air Quality and also Combined sensors, also power devices this plugin handle but Google Home exposes it only as an power device icon with no units

in the config you can add (override) powered Devices or Battery Devices (simply add the IDX to Battery Powered Devices or Main powered Devices)

you can also MERGE idx, like Thermostat > Temp sensor or even TEMP/HUM this plugin recognize the "child" idx type automaticaly and merge it into the thermostat, you can merge more devices to one, Thermostat with Temp idx and also add an HUM idx then you have them sepperated in Domoticz all in ONE thermostat device in Google Home

even on other devices its possible, if you have an TEMP sensor and you need to merge HUM simply add de hum IDX as child

the Child IDX type wil be recognized AUTOMATICALY


rooms also possible if in the plugins config the room IDX is 0 then it wil hoock up all compatible domoticz devices. if you put an room IDX then it wil pik up only devices in this room


if you wannt merge an IDX (eg. thermostat) then on the right side choose "child IDX" not the Parrent IDX for the Temp, Temp/Hum device
Thermostat wil be shown in Google Home as "Off" if temp is set to 10 degrees on the thermostat, if it is set higher than 10 degrees then it is set to mode "Heat"

how this plugin works

on start it makes an ONE HTTP call to domoticz to hook up aktual states, (one shoot) after this it listens to the mqtt broker to get / send states to devices

so all states are immediately also changen in GH and you have always Actual states in GH

so now you have all your domotcz devices connected to Google Home without ANY cloud. its matter so it runs localy. no NodeRED needed, no clouds nothing

You know there is a matter integration based on matter-js already in Domoticz. Did you play with that? And what would be the benefit of using your plugin?

so with the matter intergration in domoticz i get an qr to pair my Google home into domoticz and get all my domoticz devicess into google home ?

i meant it can only handle matter devicess and that domotcz not act as an Bridge to pair Google Home and get non mater devices from domoticz into google home. i will tak a look in that if i read the wiki you need an bridge for some matter devices

but this is an bridge whit that you can pair it into google home and it hook up your domoticz devices from domoticz (non matter devices) into matter so GH seen normaly devices as Matter, no extra hardware needed.


so it "translates" alle domoticz devices into matter, i dont have one Matter device in Domoticz, and hook al my Zigbe, Zwave, virtual devices from domoticz into matter and can control it with google with no any clouds or nodeRED needed. even no matter devices are needed, it is an Domoticz > Google intergration more which is using the matter protocol,
