Build Domoticz from source version 2026.2 gives link error

Post by Quest24 »

I tried to compile the domticz source code version 2026.2, but it gives a link error in the domoticz make step.

I followed all steps from the the wiki (https://wiki.domoticz.com/Build_Domoticz_from_source)

No OpenZwave included

Platform Raspberry pi 4
OS Bookworm 32 bit (new install , udate and upgrade )

Code: Select all

[80%] Linking CXX executable domoticz
/usr/bin/ld: CMakeFiles/domoticz.dir/mcpserver/McpSessionRegistry.cpp.o: undefined reference to symbol '__atomic_fetch_add_8@@LIBATOMIC_1.0'
/usr/bin/ld: /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libatomic.so.1: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/domoticz.dir/build.make:5036: domoticz] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/Makefile2:185: CMakeFiles/domoticz.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [Makefile:156: all] Error 2

What is missing here?

I had the same linking issue with LIBATOMIC on bookworm. Clean install Trixie 64 Bit fixed it for me.

Hi there,
I appreciate you sharing this information. It looks like the problem is more tied to the Bookworm 32-bit toolchain rather than Domoticz itself. It's fascinating that the Trixie 64-bit version resolved it. I'm curious if including `-latomic` during the linking process might also help with the Bookworm setup.
