Start and restart commands let Domoticz run immediately

Post by imautohuttraeger »

I have a question of basic understanding.
I am running Domoticz (non docker) on a RasPi with Trixie.

If Domoticz is running and I execute the stop command

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl stop domoticz.service
Domoticz is really stopping (not reacting anymore) as expected.

If I then execute the start command

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl start domoticz.service
it is active immediately.

If Domoticz is running and I execute the restart command

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl restart domoticz.service
it is also active immediately.

Question: Is it correct, that both start and restart lets Domoticz run immediately without a period of time for loading?
Stop, look and listen.

You can check the log if you dont trust the service stops....

The stop command is not the problem. It is definitely working

But I am wondering if a starting domoticz can really be fully loaded in the same second as the start command is executed. Is it the same at your end?

However, your hint to look in the log is really straight foreward. Thanks! I will check that and revert.

I can confirm now, that it is indeed that fast. It starts within a fraction of a second.

As a "normal" computer user, I was skeptical, because I experience this maybe with the Windows editor, but not with highly sophisticated Programs. That's impressive for me!
