Invalid Buienradar data?

Post by Jeweettoch13 »

Anyone else experience a problem on the Buienradar data in domoticz?

Upon inspecting i get the following outcome:

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data
Buienradar.Weather.Models.JsonFeed

Could be related to the buienradar missing windspeed issue on some KNMI/buienradar measuring stations:

Hi Walter,

I don't think so.
Buienradar device returns no answer since yesterday (9 June) around 15h40.

Log entries show: Invalid data received! (Check Station ID!)

I can confirm, same issue here and from about the same time: June 9th, 15.45. I have tried different stationID's, Lat,Lon and 0. Nothing seems to work anymore. And https://data.buienradar.nl/2.0/feed/json returns (only):

Code: Select all

Buienradar.Weather.Models.JsonFeed
Rpi4B,RFX433e,PiFace2, LCD, Hue bridge, Alexa (+TTS), HA-Bridge, Sonoff NSPanel, Sonoff RF (+IR) bridge, Nefit CV, Tasmota/MQTT, Enphase Solar, Smartmeter, Alarm I/F, H13726B Weather Station, CM180 Energy meter, Sonoff, KaKu, Tuya, Gledopto, AriLux,...

Good to know that it is not “us”, but them. That saves a lot of trouble shooting.
Next question: is Buienradar aware of this problem? I wouldn’t know how to contact them.

Same here: the json feed sends data again, but nothing shows up in Domoticz.

No, It's "us". That is, using https://data.buienradar.nl/2.0/feed/json returns the data. What feed is the buienradar plugin using?

Only since around 10.00 hr today, the feed started sending data again. It was them initially, but why the data isn’t appearing in Domoticz, I’ve no clue.

The json data receive doesn’t contain the longitude and latitude of the weather station. Bothe values are still 0 and 0.
So with the given longitude and latitude the weather station can’t be calculated and then no data will appear in domoticz.

There may be another URL.
I cannot find any external script for buienradar. Indeed it is compiled and hardcoded inside domoticz.

Code: Select all

# strings ./domoticz|grep buienradar.nl
https://data.buienradar.nl/2.0/feed/json
https://gpsgadget.buienradar.nl/data/raintext/?lat=
https://gpsgadget.buienradar.nl/gadget/forecastandstation/
https://gpsgadget.buienradar.nl/gadget/ ... ndstation/ returns "Station 0 niet gevonden."
I have no clue how to pass parameters to this URL.

Personally, my Buienradar values are stuck since 9 June 15h40, whatever I specify my Lat and Lon coordinates in the Hardware setup , or leave the field empty as it was (until yesterday).

From the looks of it, Buienradar has made changes to their feed. This is how my PHP script used to read data:

Code: Select all

foreach($datasets->actual->stationmeasurements as $dataset)
They have changed actual to Actual and stationmeasurements to WeatherStationMeasurements.

I used to extract temperature and sunpower which have changed to Temperature and Sunpower respectively. My guess is the other values also got other names or had their capitalisation changed.

Edit : Vespino was just a bit faster (above) and found the actual changes in the feed ...

Correct see json part

Code: Select all

11T21:59:00","WeatherStationMeasurements":[{"StationId":6275,"StationName":"Meetstation Arnhem","Latitude":0,"Longitude":0,"Region":null,"Timestamp":"2026-06-11T13:20:00"
But the station id is in... I hoped using the station id in the plugin would fix it. But it is not

I open https://data.buienradar.nl/2.0/feed/json in a browser en look for nearest station an use the station id (6275 for Arnhem)
But still get "Error: buienradar: Invalid data received (actual empty), or no data returned!" in the log.

Maybe some more has changed in the feed ?

Is there a way I can make the necessary changes and push an update somewhere? I'd be glad to help if I know where to look.

They changed the json. All descriptors used to use just lowercase, now they are using uppercase. So temperature has become Temperature, groundtemperature has become GroundTemperature and so on. Other things changed too like stationmeasurements has become WeatherStationMeasurements. So it's a mess.
I have my own script, changed everything and now it's working again. Till next time?
