Slider with amount

I have a script that triggers charging of my car depending on the electricity price. I use a variable for the treshold but I would like to use a slider with an amount for this.
First 'problem' is that I can't change the current on/off switch to a dimmer because changing the slider triggers the button to on.
Using a dummy device for the treshold gives a slider value in percentages. Not to big of a problem but is there some way to change this?

You can use the setpoint device for this.
You will probably know it as a thermostat but you can change the Unit of measure, min/max and step size.
