Best Z-Wave smoke detector for Europe (2026)

Post by breversa »

Hello !

I'm looking to buy a smoke detector for an apartment, and I am wondering which model would suit my needs best:
- is Z-Wave compatible and supported by Domoticz
- is compliant with the European regulations (I believe some models are different for the North American market)
- has a long battery-life, ideally with replaceable battery
- can be updated by myself if needed (that would rule out most Fibaro devices, right?)

Is there such a device? :-)

But can you update it by yourself?

I thought you'd have to either send it back to service, or get a Fibaro home hub (or whatever it's called)?

Following that thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/homeautomation ... are_button I'll try and find an Ei Electronics EI650W coupled with an Aeotec SmokeShield.
