Issue with HueBridge

Post by fotoon »

Hi all,

I use Domoticz for over 11 years never having any big issues whcih I could solve with help of this great forum and Google.
But lately I encouter some serious errors and I can't get it figured out where it goes wrong.

I use Ubuntu 24.04 in a VM. Installing goes fine using sudo bash -c "$(curl -sSfL https://install.domoticz.com)". After install I see a Pyhton error, which could be solved with an install/update of Pythondev.

But I could get my Hue bridge connected to Domoticz. It keeps telling me: Error with connecting to hue bridge, when I want to register Domoticz on the Bridge.

The bridge/network is working as I made another VM and installed an older version (2022.1) using: sudo snap install domoticz-gm. This system works perfect. Though I would like to be on the latest version. I didn't try docker, as I have seperate VM's for multiple purposes.

Who could help me to get the hue bridge working in 2025.2.

Please name your issue topic correct. It is not related to the installer.
The Philips Hue implementation is not related to python

Did you already tried upgrading to the beta version? Because we made some changes here.

Make sure you use the exact same IP address as the other VM

You could also try to register again on the brigde

Hi gizmocuz,

this worked, thank you very much.

What I also tried to tell between lines is that the last year installation was not easy due to libssl1.1, python libriaries etc. Now I have figured out, it is OK, but for a starter it is quite hard. Could this not be included in the installer.

I am glad it is am working as normal and this is a happy use again!
