question: I use the ping function in domoticz for some devices. The devices are switched on/off with a smart plug. Sometimes i get a positive ping, even when the plug is off. It happends with wifi and Lan cabled devices.

In the case om my milight hub, the hardware in domoticz is off when there is no power on the miligth hub. But when the milight hub gets a possitive ping, in can see in the log that the hardware startsup (even when the hardware is switched off) . when i look in de log of the switch, it has never switched on when this happen.

What is happing here?

That is a network issue. Google around. Nothing that domoticz can do about it.

Not so sure about that. i used a scipt for the pinging found in this forum. It works perfect. No more false pings. Deleted the ping alive checker in Domoticz.
