Energy Dashboard (Build in)

Since Domoticz beta 16049 there is a new Energy Dashboard included.

@MeneerKlaas started with this in the below topic:

https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 38&t=42345

Since than I have been modifying this heavily and I included it by default into the system!

This dashboard is useful for users using a P1 Smart Meter (Electric/Gas), Water Meter, Solar, Battery, Car charger etc.

The first step is to configure the dashboard. This can be done via the menu Setup->Settings

The dashboard itself can be found via Setup->Energy Dashboard

This is still a work in progress and probably needs some more work.

Edit Waltervl: There is also a wiki page for the Energy Dashboard
https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Energy_dashboard

And for the costs an entry in the Settings Wiki:

Nice!
If possible it could be a new Device tab instead of a setup menu option. Then it also can be made visible yes/no in the Setup - Users interface.

@Walter, have considered it, but this would take up a lot of space in the navigation bar at the top.
I am thinking about making a kind of shortcut icon / button, but it's not that complicated to select the menu at the moment.
It's the same for the 'Log', it's also not a dedicated tab, or the security panel etc....
Unless we add it as an icon only navbar item...

Just updated to lated beta. Great work @MeneerKlaas and @gizmocuz !!

One remark: When i updated to latest beta i did noticed the energy dashboard and did not read this thread. So I just saw a dashboard with zero's in it. It took me some time to figure out the dashboard settings were in the domoticz settings and then it was all quite easy..

So my suggestion to make it even better would be:
- add a link to the settings on the dashboard itself
- if the dashboard is not configured: Show a message you have to configure it (best would be to combine it with the above link)

Very very useful and nice feature!
Also, I suggest to enable not only P1 meters. Grid power/energy can be a Electric (Instant+Counter) device.
Thanks a lot!

I agree, that is also my situation (negative values are return to grid).

It will also good to have, maybe in the future, 2 sources: in my case, I have photovoltaic on the roof and photovoltaic in the garden, but other users may have photovoltaic + wind or cogenerator or something else.
Thanks again.

Nice, and so quick integrated into Domoticz. :D
Small remark. This is my Airco, which is a General / kWh meter. Some overlap.

Works like a charm. Thanks.
Will it be possible to fill the euro fields in the near future?

That should be handled by activating the Dynamic price calculating in menu Setup - Settings, tab Meters/Counters.
Select the devices where the tariffs for Water, Gas and Electricity are listed. Can by dynamic (eg Enever hardware gateway) or the fixed ones (but handled correctly when changed) from the same settings tab.

All still beta and being worked on.

Hello @waltervl,

You wrote:

and

I assume you mean that the setting in the Meters?Counters tab for the Dynamic price calculation should be set to "Internal (Meter Settings)", in case you do not use a Dynamic price calculation, such as Enever.

However if you try to fill in the tariffs for Costs T1, Costs T2, Costs R1, Costs R2 and the Costs for Gas, these values are reset to 0.0000, if you press "Apply Settings". As a result the costs in the Energy dashboard show 0.00, while the water costs counts up nicely. See also the various pictures in this thread.

Does you or anyone else experience the same?

Regards

Check the comma or points as a digit. For me it works with a digit eg 0.25

Hi @waltervl,

Thank you. that was it.

I copied the tariffs from the sheet, I recently received from my electricity/gas supplier and pasted the new values in.
Unfortunately they used comma's instead of decimal point. I overlooked that.

Your hint did it.

Regards

Thanks a lot, very nice feature !!!

+1 for Grid power/energy meter for main power monitoring.

I know it could be done "manually", outside of the dashboard conf, but grouping some energy sensors together would be nice, for instance, all lights (most of the time spreaded over multiple devices).

This can't be done, please use dzVents for this

Same as above, you can make a dzVents script for this that combines them into one kWh sensor
(Assuming they both have a kWh sensor which should make sense)

Not sure how this goes well.... and what you are measuring....

When you deliver power back to the grid, the kWh counter is decrementing?

And how do you get an overview of the total Usage / Delivery per day/month/year?

Would it not be much better to use a P1 sensor for this? You could program this in dzVents.
Just update Usage1/Delivery1 (T1/R1) and keep the other values zero

I will see if I can add a kWh sensor as Grid meter in the dashboard, this makes sense for users without solar panels and smart meter.
But when you do have solar panels and no smart meter, I would definitely go the P1 way

Except if I missed something, the Enphase plugin don't provide P1 smart meter but "general kWh sensor".

coming from the "custom" version, the build-in looks OK, much easier to config.
One thing, why are the prices always ZERO Euro ? no calculations ...
the static tarifs are with a decimal points ...

@rezzalex, I was talking about the Grid widget in the Energy Dashboard not the Solar widget.

@eddieb, see a few posts up from Walter, you have to set the correct values for electricity, water and gas if you are not using enever or have a dynamic energy sensor. Next select your dynamic price sensor (or set this to internal to use the manual configured values) in the same setup screen (meters)
