Switch Already Exists - duplicate device ID

Post by atatistcheff »

Hi, I've been using Domoticz for quite a while. Recently I updated from 2021 to 2023.2. Initially I had an issue with nothing showing up except the Dashboard and Settings but discovered it was a config issue with the user. So now I can see all the screens just fine. However, I've found that a significant number of my switches have disappeared. They still show up under Hardware and Devices but just don't appear on the switch page.

So I've tried re-adding them to the switch page but I get the message "Switch Already Exists"

Ok I then tried deleting the switch from the device list, then re-adding it. This is a Sonoff switch using MQTT so after adding the device I go to the Sonoff switch (running Tasmota) and configure it wit the idx that Domoticz assigned to it. First I delete the Device, then I delete the Hardware.

After this I create a new Device, type is Dummy. Add new hardware, but then again, when I go to add the switch it says "Switch Already Exists".

Now one thing I have noticed is that I have a lot of devices now with the same ID number (65). I think this is bad. I suspect that something happened here that is causing my device numbers not to work properly. I believe that it's these devices that have disappeared from my switch page. Every new device I try to add now is ID 65 which is why (I think) I can't add new switches. Tried restarting Domoticz several times to no avail. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated!

Oh one more thing if this helps. My lights and switches mostly keep on functioning on their automated schedules. Even though the switches don't show up anymore my lights are going on and off on schedule just like they have before. Seems like they are still there somewhere just not showing in the UI anymore.

Start with testing this with a cleared browser cache or work in a browser session in incognito/private mode
Check your assigned devices in menu Setup - Users. For an admin this list should be empty!
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar

I had tried the browser cache, incognito, etc. but checking the assigned devices - that was it! I had a bunch of devices assigned to my user and once I removed them all the missing switches have appeared again! Whew. This is probably in a FAQ somewhere but thanks so much for the help!
