How to upgrade from a very old Domoticz release
Posted: Wednesday 27 September 2023 3:12
In the 2019 I made two security/domotic systems in two different houses running Domoticz v 4.10717 (2019-05-09) on Raspberry PI 3 with Raspbian v8 (Jessie) installed.
The two installations have one ZWave controller, tenth of devices and sensors, some wired sensors are also connected through the PiFace interface (up to 24 ports), the control logic is written in LUA or bash.
I never updated the systems due to some personal sad reasons that kept me far from these developments, and also to guarantee the proper system stability required by a security system, but now at least one system needs to be upgraded to the latest level because I'm interested to add recent ZWave devices, to interface Alexa or Google environment and to manage also a couple of Denon hi-fi equipments.
Which is the best way to update to the last 2023.2 release keeping my Domoticz db and LUA scripts running ?
Many thanks who will provide me any suggestion to face this big jump of release.
