recover removed devices

For devices supporting the Auto Discovery feature. Like ZWaveJS2MQTT, Zigbee2MQTT.

recover removed devices

Post by heistje »

For me it was really not easy to migrate from OZW to MQTT AD (ZWave -JS-UI) but finally I managed  .

During the renaming of all my ZWave devices (Ozwave -> MQTT AD) I saw also passing by my Shelly devices coming from MQTT AD (I launched Shellyteacher4domo) but since I still was using the plugin Shelly MQTT I saw them twice in the log so... I removed the ones coming from MQTT AD in "Devices" (Domoticz)... I know.. I know...
Today I would like to stop using the Shelly MQTT plugin and also manage my Shellys with the MQTT discovery but I don't know how to recover the ones I have deleted in "Devices"
I can see those devices in MQTT Explorer, they are "messaging" but I can't find them in Domoticz.
Shellyteacher4domo doesn't show them anymore.. deleting the Shellys in MQTT explorer and restarting MQTT AD doesn't work either..

I would be very grateful if somebody could come up with the magic hint to recover them..

Thx!

You can't.
However you can rename your old devices to the new created IDX.
On the other hand I wouldn't bother.
In my case the only data I'm interested in is old gas an pv output.
It's interesting to have those in Domoticz but the data is also present in PVOutput and MinderGas so there is no real need to have those in Domoticz either.

Bottomline. Leave the old things behind and go forward.
A computer doesn't mind about that, it's the human mind that has difficulty adapting to change.
Bugs bug me.
