Hi,
I'm using a samung tablet for my Dashticz screen which is mounted to the wall
Tonight removed the tablet and noticed that that the cover was a bit bulgy.
I think the battery is swollen
The tablet has been on the charger for 3 years which makes sense, but i'm wondering if people are having the same problems or a better solution
Are there android tablets without a bettery or are the other solutions?

I use an old surface pro 4 flashed with Ubuntu. Works pretty good.

I had a similar issue, where the battery bulged due to being permanently connected to a charger.
I now use a Samsung tablet displaying a HomeHabit dashboard, plugged into a timer - a Sonoff power socket flashed with Tasmota, set up in Domoticz to be on between 07:00 and 23:30. That way, the tablet battery can partially discharge overnight, and then charge up during the day - it will reach 100%, but the charger won't be permanently on.
Works well.

Thanks. I've space for a switch (double wall contact box).
So i'll try this. Maybe i'll play with the timer function to charge it on several different times.

I use a lenovo tablet and it has a built in function that recognizes that the tablet is always connected to a charger and so charges the battery to max 60% instead of 100 % to save battery lifetime.
Perhaps there is an app that you can use that does the same.

Home Assistant has a free Android client that sends various system information including battery level as MQTT. Should be possible to process those messages in Domoticz to create a virtual sensor that the event system can use to control whether the tablet should be connected to mains or run on battery.

Ok. I've installed a fibaro switch and installed the app Automate with a DzVents script
Now the tablet will stop charging at80% and starts charging at 20%
See this link for how to install Automate for Android :

The explanation is already via the link available, but i'll check of i'm capable of post it on the wiki
Curently i'm checking if i can readout the batterylevel by Fully kiosk.
That makes it more easier and i don't need and extra app
