Hyperlinks in notifications

Hello,

I would like to include a hyperlink in my notifications so that when my UPS fails I can click a link in an email alert to go to the dashboard and decide whether or not to run my shutdown script.

I have tried a simple message in the Custom Message field - "Power failed, click here for dashboard - http://domoticzIP:8080"

This works fine in my Pushbullet notifications but in an email message it just prints the message without a clickable link. If I change my email (in Thunderbird) to plain text then it becomes a hyperlink but not in the default view or on my phone. I want to set this up for a friend who does not have Pushbullet and relies on email.

Any ideas please on how to get the link to display as a clickable hyperlink?

Many thanks.

Depends on how smart or what settings your email reader has to change urls into cklicable links.
For spam protection they are not fond of it...

You gout perhaps add an html url notation:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://domoticzIP:8080">Domoticz Dashboard</a>

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately this just puts the entire text into the email. It also sends all the text to Pushbullet too, rather then just the URL.
So the email looks like this (tested on my front door):

It seems that the http:// part is clickable in your email. So what is the problem with just sending http://domoticzIP:8080 as text?

Oh yeah, whoops that was the wrong screenshot! With Thunderbird on desktop and K9-Mail on my phone they both simply show the text, NOT a hyperlink.
I went into my webmail which I never normally use, just to get an easy screenshot and didn't notice that the link was working.

However, before you say this is an email client issue, all other hyperlinks in other emails apart from Domoticz seem to display as proper links, not just text....
