Monit problem after updating Domoticz

In order to solve a Zigbee2MQTT related problem, I decided to update Domoticz from a 2020 release to the most recent stable version.
Everything works, except for Monit: it restarts Domoticz frequently.
In the Monit dashboard I notice this red text after "port response time":

FAILED to [127.0.0.1]:8080/json.htm?type=command&param=getversion type TCP/IP protocol HTTP

I have not changed anything in the Monit configuration.
What am I missing?
