eMMC an alternative memory-medium?

In advertisements see promotion for Odroid as alternative for Raspberry.
The text mentions eMMC as 'favourable' type of memory-medium: see also this comparison.
Questions:
1. Anybody with experience with such configuration (relative to Raspberry)? Reliabality? Compatibility?
2. Would eMMC also be viable option for 'second' storage-medium for a Raspberry, besides the internal RAM and the SD-card? How packaged & interfacing?

eMMC via USB is an option for a Raspberry Pi that seems to work as boot and data device on the Pi 4.

Is it worth the price? I went the SSD way with many Pi 4's now and that operates fast and reliable.

I have no experience with the CM4 with eMMC variant of the Raspberry Pi.

What size/type of SSD is in your configurations?
Considering a replacement for a 'usual' SD-card for an RPI, 100GB seems sufficient.
