I've been using Domoticz for years. All windows and doors have door contacts and all rooms have temperature and humidity sensors. Those devices are from Xiaomi (Not Aquara), using Mi Gate connected to Domoticz.
I just found that is is no longer possible to obtain the LAN access password from the Xiaomi app. This means that in case of an issue, I cannot generate a new PW and the current PW is unknown.
Both because of the password and old gateway, it is just a matter of time until my sensors will stop to work. My question is, if there is any "simple" way to use these sensors without depencency to Xiaomi? I have a CC2531 USB stick flashed for using Zigbee but to be honest, I do not like it and Zigbee2MQTT is currently not even installed. The range was poor. Maybe there's an alternative which I am not aware of?
I do love Shelly devices but I do not want to buy another *25 devices as this is very costs and the battery does not last too long.

If they are Zigbee sensors than they should work with a Zigbee stick. Sometimes you will need an extra router to expand therange of the zigbee network.
You can use Zigbee2MQTT but also Python plugin ZigbeeforDomoticz (easier to setup).
See for more information https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Zigbee
What did you not like with the CC2531 USB stick besides range?
I now use a Sonoff 3.0 USB Plus P https://sonoff.tech/product/gateway-amd ... le-plus-p/
It has an external antenna. Your CC2531 is a littlebit outdated. Also you need to position the zigbee stick a liitle away from the computer with an USB extension cable. Else it can interfere with Wifi signals as they are in the same range as Zigbee signals.

Your reply is much appreciated!
I got Zigbee with CC2531 to work but with the exception of 2-3 OSRAM wall plugs, there hasn't been any use case to me. So currently i am not running Zigbee2MQTT.
The CC2531 I flashed myself and it has little range just. I've got two questions to you:
The transreceiver
You are suggesting SONOFF ZigBee 3.0 which sound great as it has got an antenna. Do you by chance know the difference between the SONOFF and ConBee which sounds popular, too?
Zigbee2MQTT Plugin
I used this plugin before. Little downside is that is has its own DB which should also be backed up. Are you using Zigbee2MQTT or the ZigbeeForDomoticz Plugin? I assume that also the ZigbeeForDomoticz has a DB and it looks like it has its own web interface?!

Hi,
I'm just migrating from Domoticz to HA. I have a similar problem with the Xiaomi gateway password.
I have access to linux files on the RPi - is there an option to read the password saved somewhere there? It must be somewhere since Domoticz gets along with XIAOMI.
Or other ideas? I don't have an android - I read somewhere that you can download the old version of the apk but I don't have an android. If anyone knows this will work please let me know. I'll get an android from somewhere Other zigbee hardware for HA. worth it?
Thanks,
Krzemo
PS
I spent a lot of time searching for files manually but without success my knowledge in this subject is not very big

Thank you everyone for your help. I managed to migrate all sensors from Mi Gate to Zigbee2MQTT running with SONOFF ZigBee 3.0 USB Stick. I tried ConBee which was not accepted by Zigbee2MQTT even though I followed the instructions on Zigbee website.
The SONOFF Stick with external antenna is just great. It is reliable and covers basement to 2nd floor and my front- and back yard.

Hi
Since few versions you cannot retrieve the password. But if it works well in your current domoticz configuration you can retrieve the password.
Here a short video:
Hope it helps.

Do not need that anymore but trick is nice. So the PW is just masked by the browser.

Yes but the data is encrypted during exchange (fortunately!)
