Domoticz

Hi all,
I am running the lastest Domoticz on an up to date Pi with a Zigate (USB) with up to date firmware and the latest beta plugin for the zigate.
What I want to do is change the setpoint of my Eurotronics Spirit Zigbee (NOT Z-Wave) thermostats (SPZB0001). I have been at it for a few days now and I can't figure it out. (tried a few scripts to no avail)
The setpoint of the thermostat is updated (back) to Domoticz after a few minutes, much quicker if I change the setpoint on the thermostat.
So there is communication from the thermostat through the Zigate to Domoticz, right?
BUT... if I change the setpoint in Domoticz, it does not end up at the thermostat, and the setpoint in Domoticz is changed back after a few minutes
I am convinced it worked on a previous version of Domoticz, (2020.2 if I remember correclty) without any additional script, but with Domoticz 2021.1 / Build Hash: 8547c5b7e / Compile Date: 2021-04-17 17:29:11 / dzVents Version: 3.1.7 / Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Jan 22 2021, 20:04:44) [GCC 8.3.0] I cannot make it work.

What do you use for zigbee controller ? DeConz, z2m ? Zigate ?

You need to rename the .json extension to .txt in order to attach here, but this will ease the way to navigate into the structutre (please provide the full file and not simply an extract)

Could you cllarify how mainy routers you have ? How far is the SPZB0001 from the ZiGate ?

Pour your info, just did a test here with a pretty similar setup as you

- ZiGate V1 (latest firmware)
- Domoticz (2021.1 Build 13872) + Plugin (5.2.293)

It works perfectly.

I have counted 3 routers and 9 Battery based devices.
If the communication beween Domoticz -> ZiGate -> Eurotronics doesn't work well, I would question the level of interferences and how far is the Eurotronics from a Router or from the ZiGate.

On which Wifi 2.4 Channel is your Access point ? You might check the Zigbee channel used, you can find it via the WebUI > Tools > Zigate infos(json). Quiet often Zigate works on channel Zigbee 11, in that case it is important to have the Wifi 2.4 on Wifi 11, so any overlap is prevented.

OK, strange that it works on your side

I cannot change the channel on my router (TPLink Deco5 -> not possible to set manually) so I changed the channel of the Zigate to 14.
The 1st thermostat is 1m away from the Zigate on the other side of the wall, the thermostat 2 and 3 are 2m and 3m away from routers 2 and 3.

After changing the channel I tried again, but the thermostat set point is not overtaken by the thermostat.

I read on other forums that there could be an issue with the firmware of the thermostats, but then they would never have worked. still, could you check what firmware you have? mine have 20191014

I cannot attach the file, even after changing the format it seems...

If you change the zigbee channel you need to repair all of your devices

I have no clue what changed. but the more I read about the SPZB0001 the more I think the issue is in the thermostats firmware.
I will try to flash them to see if that works.

Here are the firmware information of the SPZB0001 that I'm using

SWBUILD_1 : "20181205"
SWBUILD_3 : "15181120"

Let me know which firmware you are flashing (and where to get), so I can eventually do the same test.

You should also check your frequency plan for wifi and zigbee coexistence, see https://www.metageek.com/training/resou ... existence/.
And specifically this picture:

Where you can see that the frequency numbering is different for zigbee and wifi.
I personally made the mistake to set the wifi on channel 1 while the zigbee was at default channel 11.
With a catastrophic result !
Good setting example is zigbee on channel 11 and wifi on channel 8.
Be aware also that auto channel for wifi does not always take into account zigbee signals specifically for cheap AP.

Thank you for that. I adjusted the channels (Zigate and wifi). but that does not solve the problem.
I tried the flash method described here (thanks Solvisit!) https://github.com/EUROTRONIC-Technolog ... -830773393 and it works. (I erased the flash on 1 of my TRV's and then re-flashed it with the FW from a second)
However there is still no good firmware available, Eurotronic published an OTA firmware downgrade but that works only with DeconZ.
I mailed Eurotronics but I think that will give no result...
So I took a chance: I ordered a new TRV and hope it works, then I will extract that FW and flash it to my other TRV's.
Will keep you updated if it works once the TRV arrives.
