Which P1 cable for Iskra SMR 5.0 AM550-TD2

Hi all,

I have recently purchased 'starter' package with Raspberry Pi + P1 cable, with Domoticz.

However, after reading a lot of articles online I believe cable is faulty. If I understood correctly, it most likely is missing additional resistor.

There is data transfer between Iskra and Pi, measured ie. with usbtop. Tried using different solutions to read data - various python scripts, minicom and more, even tried Windows laptop - but all I get as a message is garbage instead of expected telegram message.

Pi detects following:

Links for P1 cable from: https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Dutch_DSM ... th_P1_port are outdated and linked shop is not selling cables anymore.

Could anyone please confirm which P1 cable is working with Iskra SMR 5.0 AM550-TD2 so I can get myself a correct one?! :)

Are you settings correct in domoticz (baudrate etc etc)?
I have an other time iskra, but having no problem receiving data. But the default port sertings where wrong. After changing, working perfect.

What settings are you using?

Hi Hoeby,

I have tried literally all possible settings available in Domoticz interface when adding new hardware. Also, although in settings adding new hardware is enabled, also clicked 'Allow new hardware for 5 minutes' button without success.

In addition, have tried:

- Assign fixed device name to USB
- Tried minicom with different baudrates (https://wiki.emacinc.com/wiki/Getting_S ... th_Minicom)
- Tried smeterd (https://github.com/nrocco/smeterd) with correct baud, byte size, parity and stopbits

I believe Iskra AM550 should be configured as:

baudrate: 115200
byte size: 8
parity: N
stopbits: 1

at least, according to this website:

All this leads me to believe that P1 cable I got with starter kit seems to be an older one - and thus not working with Iskra AM550.

There are other cables, which specifically do mentioned AM550 model, but wanted to check if anyone has actual experience before purchasing another one for 15-20 euros :)

The settings for the serial are the same as i use.
If you have data but nit readable, it could be the thing you already discovered, a not supported cable for your meter.

I use this one, worked right out the package:

I have ordered new cable, should arrive today so will give it another go :)
