Zigate USB newbie bridge/router/gateway

I am new to the Zigbee stuff. Everything till now was running with RFLINK and KlikAanUit.
First of all I liked the idea of a two-way protocol in case of reliability.
But also the mesh netwerk part got my interest.

But now I have a Zigate + USB stick, a INNR SP220-2 set. The signal strength on the SP220 is 2 to 3.
Is this OK and don't I need to worry?

I wanted a router/gateway in between to extend the range so the SP220. But what do I need to buy? I see router or gateway.
Don't understand the difference for this technology.

And what is the most simple (cheapest) solution. I just want to buy something. I read about a USB stick that I need to flash. All nice, but what to buy to do it with standard devices.

You have to have only one gateway : that is the ZiGate.

The router are all the objects connected to the power supply : bulbs, plugs, etc ... Just had one plug to your network and you have your router to extent your network.

But I read somewhere that for a 'repeater'' function you need plug (not battery) powered device.
I will try to plug my other SP220 in between and see what happens.

That's right. It is what I explained above.

In the plugin WebUI Dashboard, you have the numbers of routers and end devices. That way you can check if your device is a router or net.
