Hello,

I need to replace a BeNext P1 zwave node. Because old firmware from this device is not updating the gasmeter values correctly I got a new node from Benext.
I would very much like to connect this new one in place of the old one and keep the same node number. So that all the measured values are kept from the old node and the new one adds to it.
I have seen in the zwave menu that the option excists to replace a node, but sofar I have not been very succesfull in using this menu. (also have some issues with the Aeon ZW089 recessed door contacts).

So to summarize:
Is it possible to replace a zwave node with another one on the same node number?

Best regards, GJ

I do not know about Zwave but for Domoticz in general you can replace a device by another and take over the history. Click on edit on the old device widget, click on replace and select the new device. Now the history of the old device is taken over by the new device and you can remove the old device from Domoticz.

No, you can't as z-wave node ID is not managed by Domoticz but your z-wave controller. You may check on controller manufacturer side if they provide an utility able to do this, but I'm not aware this is doable. This is a problem because device will be seen as new and IDXes in Domoticz will be changed as well at re-inclusion. For sensors/meters, as explained, you can still keep the history (DB data) using "replace" in original device. But all node ID and IDXes that may be used by some scripts etc must be changed everywhere else.

Even if it's not possible to replace the device at Z2M level, it would perhaps be possible to replace it at Domoticz level, as done with RFXtrx433, where most of them change ID when battery is changed.
