Domoticz

Can anyone tell me, what kind of device I have to create in Domoticz and bring with homebridge to homekit to see the full funcionality of a garagedoor in homekit. I want to see the dashboard question in carplay, if I want to open my garagedoor when I arrive. I tried it with a door lock in domoticz, in homekit it is seen as a lock but nothing happens in carplay. Thanks a lot.

As far as I know, you don’t actually get to ‘see’ homekit things on your car screen when using carplay.

Once you are in wifi range of your homekit network, you can use Siri activated via carplay, to perform a homekit action.

It's true, there are noc homekit devices in carplay, but I read, that there would be a message in the dashboard of carplay.

There is a Garage Door icon that appears on the Carplay screen (certainly does on my screen). I now have an ESP8266 flashed with https://github.com/RavenSystem/esp-homekit-devices and use this. Only down side is I don't have it linked to Domoticz, so no logs. I tried adding some HTTP GETs to the code, but this messed up the automations I had addedd (turn garage light on at night/off when door was closed) from what appears to be a conflict with the hub sending the command while device is trying to send the HTTP to Domoticz. Further investigation underway.

Would love to see a screenshot of your car display? And also a screenshot of how it appears in Homekit?

When man uses google I was able to find out that with iOS 13 (april 2019) there was also something integrated with garage door opening. Interesting!

Here is a picture of how it is displayed. Not that Homekit is not really integrated, but this feature relies on Siri Suggestions being turned on in CarPlay. I have recently changed my Garage Controller as mentioned, so Domoticz integration is not there yet (have created dummy switches that get updated through a HomeKit automation to keep them in sync). Previously was using the solution here, but had to change due to wifi connection problems (only occurred when WiFi lost, then needed reboot). In Domoticz, have it set as a switch, then edit to 'Blinds Inverted'

I took a stab at adding some HTTP GETs to the code, yet this wrecked the robotizations I had addedd (turn carport light on around evening time/off when entryway was shut) from what gives off an impression of being a contention with the center sending the order while gadget is attempting to send the HTTP to Domoticz. Further examination in progress.
