Steinel IS 140-2

Hello all,

I've recently added the Steinel IS 140-2 PIR to my Smart Home and have included it in the ZWave network. It shows up properly in the Hardware setup, so inclusion seems to have gone correctly. It has been working very well in 'Normal' mode; ie. switching the attached lights when you come near...

However, I was expecting (from reading other threads mentioning this device) that there would be at least one device added to Domoticz as well. I'm expecting a) a trigger switch when motion is detected and hopefully also b) a lux measurement and maybe even c) a switch to manually switch on/off the attached lights.

Looking at the manual, I've already tried switching parameter 9 to "Slave mode with gateway checking" and also tried associating Group 4 (the "Ambient light- Multilevel Sensor Report") with my ZWave dongle (device 1). But still, no new devices are showing up. :( And, now that I've switched it to Slave mode, it's no longer controlling the lights attached itself. This indicates to me that at least it's found the lifeline, but

Anyone any tips on what to try next? FYI I'm on Domoticz 2020.2 and I'm using the Aeotec ZStick Gen5.

Thanks in advance!

I assume you'd enabled "Accept new Hardware Devices" in the settings? I recently added the same hardware and after including it provided the following devices:

Hi IanDury,

Sorry for the delayed reaction.

Uhm... no... apparently that got turned off somewhere alone the way... Turned it on again, but the devices have not yet shown up.
Guess I'll have to try to exclude the device and re-include (?)

BTW, did you (need to) do any modifications to the group assignments, or simply keep the Group 1 assignment to your Zwave Me USB stick?

Thanks for the tip (it's been a while since I included any new devices to my setup...)

I'll let you know when I've worked this out...

You could try power off/on the sensor first after enabling "Accept new Hardware Devices" before trying exclude/include.

I use the default group 1 (lifeline) assignment and "Normal mode with lifeline error signalisation" slave mode .

Btw. the device with Idx 278 (power management) is not associated with the Steinel sensor!

Tried powering off/on yesterday, but that did nothing (the "Accept new Hardware Devices" is now 'constantly' enabled).

Today I tried excluding the sensor from the ZWave controller and checked that it was indeed excluded.
After reincluding the sensor.... still nothing... And then, while writing this message and double checking... new Devices show up... :D

XXXXX00 Sensor - ???
XXXXX01 Switch - Allows override of lights AND shows actual status when switched by sensor
XXXXX02 Switch - Allows override of lights only
XXXX03 Illumination - Lux measurement
XXXXX35 Home Security - Motion detection switch
XXXXX37 System - ???
XXXXX35 (Unit 7) Alarm Type: Home Security

No idea what device 00, 35 (Unit 7) or 37 are... I'll ignore them for now...

So, success at last. Thanks for your help IanDury!

Does anybody know what the ‘sensor’ and ‘system’ device are user for?
