Domoticz

Hi everyone,

I just bought two of these lights.

These are dimmable and temperature controlled lights. Via remote it works, but Domotics sees them as regular dimmable lights with no option of changing the color temp. If I connect them and the remote via Domoticz/Zigate, then te color change buttons on the remote will not work anymore.

Anyone any ideas why? Do I perhaps need to update the firmware of the Zigate controller to be able to use all of the Tradfri lights (and options)? Or does the plugin take care of the Tradfri updates?

I did however update my Zigate to 3.1d, but this does’t work with my Domoticz and Plugin version. Any thoughts?

Di you enable Group ?
Did you then create a group between the remote and the bulb ?
Did you add Zigate to the group created ?
Did you then finaly add the remote to the group ?

Do you have to add the Zigate first and then the remote as the last one? I added the remote first and then the Zigate. But the Zigate tickbox does not stay on.

Can I remove the remote and then add the Zigate again?

I'm also posting in this thread. I will stop there

The remote in the group with the E27 bulbs is now working correctly. The Zigate tickbox is checked. The remote is reporting to Domoticz. All of the buttons work. I don't know why the Zigate suddenly was available in this group. It took some time apparently.

In the Zigate group config file the EEEE of Zigate is added to both groups.

The remote in the second group still does not report to Domoticz.

And now the color change via the 5 button remote stopped working again.

The input is visible in Domoticz when the buttons on the remote are pushed (click/push left or right) but the lights don't react anymore.

Curious.

Can we start from the begining:

1/ what is the plugin branche you are ? stable or beta ?
2/ what is then the version of the plugin ?

4/ is the Led controled via Domoticz ? Dim and Color ?
5/ is the Led Controled via the remote ? On/Off and Dim ?

If all is ok here. It means , the Led and the remote are both connected to the same Zigbee network controled by Zigate

Please do not edit any file, otherwise I don't know what could happen. You have to use the Plugin Web UI for that (which by default is reachable on the port 9440 of your domoticz server).

1) I'm not sure if it's stable or beta.
2) Version is 4.7.010
3) Led is controlled by Domoticz. Yes, both dim and color.
4) Led is controlled by remote: On/Off and Dim. For a short while color was also possible. But that stopped working.

I see a newer version on GIT. Can you tell me how I can update? I know how to install the plugin the first time, but updating is a bit different.

The best is :

1/ stop domoticz
2/ go on the plugin folder ( Domoticz-Zigate ) and from there

git pull

3/ restart Domoticz

I tried this, but it does not work (windows 10)

It says it is not a git depository (or any of the oarent directories)

Cloned the package in a seperate dir and copied it into Domoticz zigate.

Now the update was succesful and I see version 4.11.011

What I still don’t see is a config file of the 470lm Tradfri bulb. So the full functionality is probably not supported?

However, to summarize:

- E14 470lm candle lights: no color temp change possible inside Domoticz
- Regular E27 1000lm bulbs: color temp change possible inside Domoticz, remote works also via Domoticz, but not the color temp.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I also bought a Tradfri hub, but I'd rather have a fully functioning Domoticz.

Not an issue. The plugin is develop in a way that it is able to detect automatically devices based on their capabilities. If it works, it works. No need to get a conf file.

If I summarize

The 2 LEDS are controled by the remote for On/Off and Dim+ and Dim - , correct ?

If so, please cross-check the Group Management :

make sure that both Led are part of the group.
make sure that Zigate is part of the group
finaly make sure that the IKEA Remote is added to that group too .

Make a screenshoot of this interface so we can share the same view

After the update to the latest Plugin version, I reconnected all of the lamps and remotes according to your description and everything works!

The candle lamps 470lm is able to change colortemp in Domoticz and through the remote.

The color temp change via the remote is a bit sudden and not gradual as per the original Ikea connection, but I'm not complaining. Thanks!

Up to the next challenge:

Can you control one group of tradfri lamps in Domoticz, with two Ikea remotes?

Consider the limit that zigate can be only on 4 different groups.
