Can't show 2 BME280 Sensors, 2nd one won't be shown

Post by autohomefan »

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with connecting two BME280 Sensors with Domoticz running on a Raspi over I2C. One of them is on its standard address 0x77 and I set the other one to 0x76. I can manually read them both out with a python script.

In Domoticz creating a I2C hardware selecting the BME280 preset shows me the values from the 0x77 sensor but I can't find a way to create a device for the 0x76 sensor. In the device and hardware settings I couldn't find an option that seemed proper to me to solve this.

Can somebody help here? How can I tell Domoticz to read the other sensor as well?

Thanks and have a good one everybody!

Haven’t tried this myself but looking at the I2C code, I think you need to create a hardware device for each sensor. So you have 2 I2C hardware devices.

If you are unable to enter the correct settings using the UI, you could try looking at the domoticz.db directly using the SQLite3 command on your Pi. Maybe you can alter the address there.

Let us know :)

Thank you for your input! I had a look into domoticz.db using sqlite browser and could find the two sensors that I created in Domoticz for the BME280's.

However, within the options for the sensors I couldn't find any that would show me any I2C address. I edited the tab "Address" for the second sensor to "0x76". There was no default value in the address tab.

This didn't work, Domoticz still shows only the 0x77 values, even for the edited sensor. I might try editing the other values somehow and will let you know about the results.

Thanks!

Hello,

I was wondering if there was any resolution to this issue. I am having the same problem and haven't been able to figure out a way to specify the different I2C addresses. I would be very grateful if you could share any progress you have made.

Thanks.

Did you find 2 devices? Or 2 hardware ‘modules’ ? Which table(s) did you look at?
