Ghosts are switching on and off my lights.

Post by Emil01 »

Hi,
I'm using Domoticz for a small year now. I like it but I have something strange.
This weekend I installed a new switch (sonoff T4 1ch, flashed with tasmota 8.4.0) and since that moment another switch (sonoff basic3, Tasmota 8.4.0) started switching on and off. Not regulair but sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes minutes.
If I point MQTT to a fake address (on the basic3) it stops.

- I removed the switch and recreated it, but it started straight away. I removed all switches and recreated them, and then more switches started flashing.
- I removed the MQTT broker from Domoticz and the Rasp Pi and reinstalled and configured it. No change.
- I moved MQTT to another server (Synology, different make) to see if it could be a bug in the server. No change.
- I upgraded all sonoff switches to the latest Tasmota, No change.

I noticed that after removing the MQTT broker from Domiticz, and I use the Domoticz dashboard to switch switches on and off, (actual switches do not switch because of a leak of MQTT broker configuration) the switches on the dashboard are doing the same as the switches did. The turn on and off by them self.

So It cannot be MQTT that is buggy.

I did play with blocky to automate lights going on and off at certain times and deleted the scripts later. Could this being the Ghost on my system?

How should I fix this? Where should I start? I do not want to format the Pi and start all over again.

Any idea's?

Thnx.

Check your Domoticz logs and Tasmota console log.
I suspect problems with retained messages.
Keep your mqtt topic name different for each device.
Disable LWT messages if you don't need it and make sure your wi-fi connection is stable.

Hi,
I have solved the problem. I have chased ghosts away.
Deleted the dummy switched and used this plugin (https://eye-vision.homeip.net/sonoff-s20-in-domoticz/) to discover the switches automaticly.
They stopped flashing.
Thnx for your attention.

I still have this issue with two Tasmota Dual R3 devices on MQTT. I have about nine Tasmota devices that work perfect.
Using unique names in the topics client name within MQTT settings.

But with the two 2 channel Dual R3 devices what ever I do the first channel of both devices react on each other.
Have recreated the Virtual devices and used the different ID's in Tasmota but they are switching both, it really drives me crazy and don't have clue what it is. Also used "Clear Retained" in the Tasmota Device Manager without success.
Anyone any suggestions?

Found a solution by resetting and setting the parameters again.
