Graphical presentation yearly usage possible?

I want to show my yearly gas, electricty and water usage in a custom graphic. I tried a custom graphic with groupBy: 'year', but that results in an empty graphic. It seems that groupBy is limited upto 'month.
Is there a way to show the yearly usage?

I am using v3.5.2 beta.

does groupBy work for you by the usage of 'month'?
if i usen groupBy: 'month' it only displays the first day of that month instead of the whole month...
