Byron BY chimes

Post by jefft »

Hi All,

Does anyone know whether the Byron BY chime protocol in RFXCom (rfxtrx433XL) is supported by domoticz? I can receive a code from the bell push, which shows up as a Chime/SelectPlus3 device, but when I try to add a switch to domoticz to transmit the Byron code (i.e., make domoticz ring the bells), there is only the Byron SX option which doesn't have the right unit ID length. SX offers a 2-byte unit ID; BY is 3 bytes - e.g. 00E4B5. Also, there's a ring (tune) number sent in the BY messages, which rfxmngr knows about but isn't an option with the SX settings in dz.

I can both send and receive the BY protocol perfectly from RFXCom's rfxmngr. For receive, it's set along with Bryon SX but for send, it's a separate chime type in the list.

Is there a way to send Byron BY messages from a domoticz switch?

I'm guessing that domoticz just needs to be taught about the chime type and the required parameters to give to the rfxtrx433, but I may be wrong... if it's not there, how do I get it added?

Thanks!

Same question here. Someone in the neighborhood seems like to have the same code, so I want to change mine. How to do that?
