Absolute beginner

Post by Sarcas »

I like very much what I see about Dashticz and have a lot of ideas I'd like to develop for myself. But I am also quite overwhelmed and intimidated by the complexity. I have no CSS experience at all, I taught myself to write DzVents scripts, I installed Dashticz on my rpi3 and I have the basic layout, I looked at the CONFIG.js file and now I just don't know where to begin :p

Welcome :)

You can start with the documentation:
https://dashticz.readthedocs.io/en/master/

Be aware that there is a master en beta branch. All new developments will be implemented first in the beta branch. We try to update the beta documentation at the same time.

I would recommend to start without making use of customizations (via custom.css or custom.js), but first try to create a Dashticz dashboard with the standard functionality, which is quite extensive already.

Besides support for all the Domoticz devices, there are a lot of special blocks:
https://dashticz.readthedocs.io/en/mast ... cials.html

Also the graph functionality has a lot of configuration options:
https://dashticz.readthedocs.io/en/mast ... raphs.html

The default functionality should work out-of-the-box already, and is not so complex I would say.

So start experimenting :)

If you encounters issues or have questions you can leave a note here in the forum, and we will help.
