Difficulty reading 2gb log file after crash on synology

Hi all
I'm experiencing infrequent crashes (4 times in a few month) of Domoticz (stable V4.10717) running on synology (DS218play, DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4), resulting in Domoticz to stop running. To understand the cause of this, I wanted to look at the domoticz.log file. I discovered it is 2.2 GB and therefore cannot be opened with any of the text editors on my windows laptop.
My questions are if this log file size is normal, if it could be a cause of the crashes, does the size need to be controlled (how?) and what editor is best suited to go through this large list to find info on crashes.
Regards, Rutger
