Hi there,

I have found some icons I want to use for my curtains.
I have a open.png and a close.png, when i combine them in an zip file (curtains.zip) and want to upload them I get an error "No icon definition file not found.
What am I doing wrong?

Or when anybody has curtain icons in a zip file please share them with me

Hello EdwinK,

Can you give a little bit more info.
Where do you get that? When do you get it? What are the contents of your zip file?

Regards

I've got the same error message: "Error uploading Iconset: undefined"

Using latest beta:
V4.11605
Build Hash: 7de1f368f
Build Date: 2020-01-08 23:12:15

Any idea if there is any fix? Perhaps workaround like manual copy?

I have the same problem with the latest stable version. The custom icon's top half of the page stays white. And when I select a zip file containing the icons (downloaded from Custom Icons Google Drive) the buttons don't seem to respond. This happens on mac (os x 10.5.3) both in safari and chrome
Sometimes, but not all the time it seems, I get the error: Error uploading Iconset: undefined

Version: 2020.1
Build Hash: 63fa969e4
Compile Date: 2020-03-22 15:16:16
dzVents Version: 3.0.1
Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Dec 20 2019, 18:57:59) [GCC 8.3.0]
Raspebby pi with lastest Debian Buster

Just tried in windows test environment with latest update, created a test icon with an excisting name and a unique name.

Version: 2020.2 (build 12106)
Build Hash: b08d17c2d
Compile Date: 2020-05-29 09:01:13
dzVents Version: 3.0.8
Python Version: None

I noticed a writing right issue in the domoticz dir (Win10)
On a second try i saw overwriting was still an issue (have a unique name)

After solving the writing right issues all worked fine --> = Platform related and not domoticz related.

I have given write permissions to the entire domoticz folder and it still does not work, they should tell us which folder needs these permissions in order to solve the problem, an end user does not know these things, please explain well how to solve it. thanks in advance

I'm having the same problem, have not found a solution yet:

My Domoticz is running on a Raspberry Pi 4, software details:

Version: 2020.2
Build Hash: b63341bc0
Compile Date: 2020-04-26 13:47:55
dzVents Version: 3.0.2
Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Jul 25 2020, 13:03:44) [GCC 8.3.0]

Would be great to have a solution and/or a work around.

It seems that ICON upload is not supported via Linux or MAC. Had the same issue uploading from my MAC. Uploading the same on a WIN10 PC didn't give any errors.

Confirmed, I finally got this info from another thread in this forum. I've confirmed there it was working from a Windows Virtual Machine on my Mac.

i have the same problem. linux rpi.

i kinda think it might be a write-access problem as that is a difference between windows and the 'ux-based' filesystems of macos and linux.

i can't find where the icons are supposed to be stored, else i would try some chown and chmod commands on those folders.... maybe some of the specialists can have a look at this?

a bit of searching on the pi taught me that the icons might be in the www/images folder under /home/pi/domoticz. i noticed something interesting there. the icons added by plugins (like fritzpresence) are owned by root, as the rest is owned by pi (from which user i installed domoticz). Doing a sudo chmod -R a+w images on that folder doesn't help anything, so it's not just access on that folder. i'm now wondering where the temporary (zip)file is uploaded to and unzipped from, and wether that is allowed. again. i'm not the expert here...

Hi,

I have made 4 custom icons with the icon generator.
Uploaded them in Domoticz on my pi4, no problem.
Now I have made a fifth one and I can not upload it anymore.
When I click upload nothing happens.
anyone any idea?
