Hello,

I just bought a Z-Stick Gen 5. I'm already have a HUE Bridge and an Philips Ambilight TV (With ambilight HUE). Is it possible to use the Z-Stick en the Hue Bridge at the same time? I need the Philips Hue Bridge for Philips Ambilight Hue on my TV. Or are there other options so i can Use the Z-stick and ambilght HUE?

These 2 protocols work next to each other.

So I'll thinks this is no problem. Is this running under Windows?

The system is running on a Pi4. The idea was to expand my system with Zwave devices. (and Replace some KAKU) And also use the Stick for my HUE diveces. So i get one netwerk. Instead of Using The Hub and the stick. But i Gues thats the only option when Using my philps ambilight HUE.
I read someting about primare en secundaire controller. So i get one netwerk. With the stick and HUE.

You cannot have one network. Philips hue uses zigbee technology, it runs on another frequency band than zwave, so you can use both at the same time without interference. I'm also using Philips hue and zwave simultaniously without any issues. Good idea to replace the kaku stuff, as they don't have two way and secure communication.

I have to do better my homework. Zigbee en Z-Wave are 2 different things. My Mistake. Thanks for the answers. Would a Zigbee stick works in combiantion with a Philips Hue Bridge?

I'm pretty sure you can manage HUE lights with all zigbee sticks, but not sure if you can still use the Philips HUE app and scenes etc.

Why do you want to replace your hue bridge? You can connect it to domoticz without any hassle. Also the power usage is very low of the bridge. This way you can operate the lights with the domoticz interface/scripting and you can still use the native HUE app and other anroid/IOS apps which are dependend on the bridge.

For your other home automation needs you choose one standard (i.e zwave or zigbee) and buy a stick to manage those.

I read you already bought the z-stick.

Than you have the same setup as me.
In the hardware tab in domoticz you need to setup both your hue bridge and zwave stick. See screenshot.
Than in the "devices" tab all devices will be visible and you can use them.

If you connect your Philips hue lights to the zigbee stick.
They wil then lose the connection with the Philips hue bridge

Just because it can I would like to mixe up devices from different manufactors. Motion Detectors, switches ed. The most Ikea/Tradfri/KakU solutions are just not what i want. Switching depending on time/motion/light. The system works nice if you do not want to much. Most of the time is not smart home. But just Conventionel with a little bit smart things over it.

The power of domoticz and other home automation hubs is you can mix different technologies and vendors in 1 system.
With domoticz you can do all kind of smart scripting to really make your home SMART.
For example I never use any lightswitch anymore in my house, everything is automated with PIR's. I'm using zwave PIR's and zwave fibaro switches, but also HUE lights (through the bridge).
When I am coming home I use a NFC card and the doors open automaticaly.
In the summer the sunscreen is lowered automatically depending on the weather.
Ambilight on my TV is automatically switched off during daytime.
Coffeemachine is switched on when I am at home and during certain times.
And lots of other automations.

That's indeed the idee om smarthome. But on my experience the hue bridge can't communicate well with the Tradfri zigbee stuff. Like motion detectors and switches. I use also a RF reciever for the KaKU devices the KaKu devices are working great for the price and have a greater diversety of divices then Hue.

My I ask you what kind of ambilight tv you have. My old ambilight tv workt great with Jointspace. Like remote control, putting image of security cam on top of the tv show what's playing. My new Android TV is much harder to control with domoticz (I didn't found out yet.).

Nowdays I get the idea that everyting is much more closed then before, Google home, nest, hue, tradfri, Orbi Pro. Great devices but really limmited in advanced settings. For my idea the windoss,/apple or Android/iPhone idea. Apple works great for the regular customer,. Easy to install and work with if you do not want to much custumation. But if you like to change something what's not regular it's much harder or impossible to get it done.
