is there a way to get google home to tell me when the diswasher i finished?

Yes, you can...
You can measure the energy used by the appliance, write a script that sends a message to your phone or let google speak it out loud.. I don't know about your scripting experience or hardware setup.. I could help you if you need help.

Take a look at my post ‘Long delay on Google Home voice notifications’.
I have succeeded to receive a spoken notification once the doorbell is pressed.
Only problem is that the time between pressing and the notification is about 7 secs.
Not a problem in case of a connected dishwasher but not very effective in case of the doorbell.
The node-red flow I use is included.

Sounds very interesting, do i need to use node red for the voice dotification?

I suppose there are more ways that lead to Rome.
This is the way I am using.
I have a raspberry with Domoticz installed. I am using RfxTrx433E to connect my sensors to Domoticz (for instance the doorbell). Node-Red is installed on the same RasPi.
The node-red flow ‘node-red-contrib-cast’ is used to connect to the Google Home mini.
Domoticzi is using mqtt to connect to node-red.

Hello again,

so i have been loooking at some youtube videos about node red,it seems a bit fuzzy to get it all working.

so of what i understand, i need to install node red, i will do that on the same raspberry as i run domoticz .
and after that i need to install a mqtt software, but where do i find that, and is there more than one version of it?
is there any more software that i need to install to get it working?

Hi tjabas,
Yes basically that is it. Take a look at the Domoticz wiki - mqtt topic.
It takes some effort to get it all installed properly.
So don’t forget to make a backup of your Pi in advance.
After you have installed node-red you can import my flow in node-red.
