Use small Tradfri Wireless Dimmer as activator switch

What I want to do:

I want to use the small Tradfri Wireless Dimmer (https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/tradfri-ka ... s-70408595) to control all kinds of stuff in domoticz, for example a smart power plug.
The way I would/want do this is:

Wireless Dimmer ----> Zigbee Hub (Hue Gateway, Tradfri Gateway, Zigate, what ever) -----> Domoticz -----> e.g. Smartplug (I have some OBI Wifi Powerplugs I want to control)

The questions I have:

1. What Gateway is suitable for this? Hue? Tradfri (I already have that one) ? Some other?
2. In all videos and articles I saw until now, you always have to connect the dimmer to the bridge/gateway AND a lamp / plug / etc. Isn't it possible to connect the dimmer to the bridge/gateway only so I am free to decide what to control?

The reason I want to make it that way is to be as flexible as possible. I want to be free to decide what I switch on and off with the dimmer.
And I want to use the Tradfri dimmer because it seems to be the cheapest switch on the market (except for 433 MHz switches that I don't want to use).

Or are there any other switches as cheap as that one (or for example the old Amazon Dash Buttons)? The switch should use either Zigbee, Z-Wave or Wifi. What is the cheapest way to switch things on and off using a hardware switch and domoticz?

Thank you all for your help!
