Is patoo77 stil there?

Too bad that, even being a Patron, there is no reply whatsoever when these kind of problems are mentioned. Even via email the silence is very loud.

Hopefully there will be an update of the app real soon.

Edit: just received a reply from Patrick that he will look into it a.s.a.p.

Edit 2: I noticed that a security setting was changed in my Domoticz setup (not by me!). Once I changed it, the app could connect again.

Your support has been incredible over the years and I'm grateful for it :) trying to be as quick as possible on my answers, and I'm not doing a good job at it lately!

This security setting seems to be new. In any case, my recommendation is the same as Domoticz's team. Anybody should stop from using plain HTTP for its Domoticz instance, HTTPS is the way to go. If it's not possible to enable HTTPS on your side, you do can check that box there to make the API work again.

And my camera's in Pilot are not showing any video, the red light is blinking to indicate there is live video, the clock is ticking but there is no video, see also screenshot.

Any suggestion on how to solve this?
I am having the exact same issue (no video either in Pilot App or Domoticz App) and I do not see around here that this ever got solved. Any help, please?

Check latest Domoticz beta, a lot of new Domoticz API Calls have now a fallback to the old API calls. So the App could be working but with some log status messages about deprecated Rtype api calls.

I have updated to the latest beta. I get the deprecated message when I try to access the camera from the apps, but still no image :(

Code: Select all

[WebServer] Deprecated RType (cameras) for API request. Handled via fallback (getcameras), please use correct API Command!

I installed today the new app version 2023 . 6. 1, that should support new Domoticz API, but I still get the deprecated message for the cameras call .... and no image

Hi there,
Question. This item may have been here before, then sorry (please tell me where to find) but I can't find it.
I have quite a few text devices with formatted text, with html formatting such as <font color='xx'>, style='fontxx', etc. When I use these in this app, this formatting is displayed and not interpreted or used. If I use domoticz in a browser on my iphone, the text is neatly formatted.
The question: is this the default behaviour of the app (can't it handle the formatting) or is it a feature I need to turn on (or something to enable in the phone) or is it a bug?
I use (still) the free app version (2023 .6 .1) to view things. Without this text formatting, the app is less useful to me.
Anyone have any suggestions or experienced this?

Hi

Anyone know if Pilot is still being supported or developed anymore.

Tired to raise a few issues but not had a response. I did get a response about a year ago but then nothing.

If it’s dead and not supported time to delete.

Unfortunately, since the last Beta update of Domoricz (2024.7 (build 16401)), I see no devices anymore in Pilot. I can see the log, so there is a connection, but I can't see any devices.

I hope it can be fixed, because I rely on Pilot for some switches and also geofencing.

This is not related to latest Domoticz beta but an API update in Domoticz 2023.2. So more than a year ago. So I hope for you the app will be updated (but is not updated for a long time now).

You could as work-around use a reverse proxy to modify the old api format requests from the app to the proper new format. I've posted this solution in the past in the android app thread:
viewtopic.php?p=309220&hilit=Proxy#p309220

Could be some are still missing but it should nearly be complete. The definition is for an nginx server running on the same rpi as Domoticz.

See my post about that: viewtopic.php?p=303764#p303764

And it was working until a few days ago. After updating Domoticz from the prior last version to the current last version (beta). So it must have something to do with the latest beta update and I see that I'm not the only one with this problem.

I've sent an email to the creator of Pilot, but I'm not sure if I will get a reply, especially during this time of the year.

Installing reverse proxies etc. is not my cup of tea....

Depends from what version you updated. It cannot be from a 2024.x version. You post that post in June 2023. 2023.2 is released in July 2023. So it is definitely related to the Domoticz API update of 2023.2.

Hmm, weird. Same issue here. Pilot worked fine with Domoticz 2024.7 from July 2024, but stopped working with build 16401.

In the latest beta’s some deprecated code has been removed including the backward compatibility code to keep supporting some RType API calls.

If the Pilot app still uses these old API calls,
they won’t work anymore with these latest beta’s.

Nope, I update nearly every Beta version. So, it has to do with the latest (or the 1 or 2 before that I missed) update of Domoticz.

I did not know in latest beta the API backward compatibility code was removed that got the IOS app still working.
The Android Domoticz App did not even work with the backward compatibility code so that had been updated by its maintainer already long time ago.

If we only knew what code that was, then it would be an option to add it again ourselves. Maybe.
