Which is faster, Zigate USB or Zigate Wifi

Hi all!
I'm thinking about buying a Zigate device to control my Tradfri devices. I run Domoticz on a Synology NAS and already have the plugin working.
My NAS is not centrally located in my house though and I fear that a Zigate USB will give me signal problems. The obvious solution would be a Zigate Wifi device, since you can place it anywhere where you have good reception and can permanently power it.
I use a similar setup with my MySensors network. I've made a Wifi gateway and put it in a place with good reception. But even though it works very reliably, I do notice a small time delay in sending and receiving commands through this Wifi gateway in comparison with the former USB gateway. It's not much, but it's noticable.
Does a similar delay difference exist between the USB and WIFI versions of the Zigate?
