Aeotec smart switch 7 only switches LED with Domoticz

Hi all,

After having some experience with a working Fibaro wall plug, I recently bought three Aeotec smart switch 7 wall plugs.
I am using Domoticz on a Raspberry Pi with a Aeon labs usb stick to controll these plugs.

The smart switch 7 plugs I can easily add to my system, and it also detects it when adding a switch, but the strange thing is that when i toggle on/off it only turns on/off the LED on the plug.

When pressing the switch the relay switches (also AC power). But remotely control via Domoticz it only switches the LED and never the relay.

This behaviour i have with all the Aeotec Sm Sw7 plugs. The Fibaro plug on the othet hand works well.

Any tips and tricks ?

Hi There,

I have exact the same problem with my new Aeotec Smartswitch 7 only the led is switching not the relay.
I have a bunch of devices and also a an energy meter that actually works but goes on and off together with the led.
It is weird that the relay is not switching but the Led does when clicking the device.

However I found out that in the Domoticz Open-Zwave control panel it does switch the relay and it is in sync with the switch in devices that can't switch the relay by itself.

Another strange thing is that the switch device has this in the data field "Set Level: 50 %" is it defined as dimmer?

Hope this is fixed because I can't use the switch at all.

There is definitely something wrong in the configuration of the Aeotec Smartswitch 7.

Found this in the logs at startup:
2019-11-23 12:56:16.147 Status: SendSwitchIfNotExists: Device '79.instance.1.index.0.commandClasses.38' (Level) with DeviceID '00004F01' matches '79.instance.1.index.0.commandClasses.37' (Switch). Domoticz will use the Dimmer (and hide the Switch).

It looks like the switch device is defined as a dimmer it explains why it is not switching at all.
Hope this can be an easy fix, for all Aeotec Smartswitch 7 users

Hi mate. Similar to you but slightly further along. I've installed a Fibaro double switch, Aeotec Nano and a DHS double switch recently. The sparky installing them "liked" the Fibaro best and the Nano second. The DHS had smaller cable inserts which was tough for him to make a solid connection and could have contributed to the pop it made when energised.

Hi, I've got the same problem with my Aeotec smart switch 7+. I have two, but strangely enough one of them seem to work, but the other one just switches the LED. In the log I get "domoticz will hide the switch and use the dimmer .."

Anyway, I'm on the latest stable release 2021.1 and in the chat it's indicated that the problem has been solved in a beta. Can anyone confirm and please give some direction where I can find that beta. Would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you’re not alone!

I’m using the same switch and the same software release, and exploring the same problems.
With over 70 devices, it’s not a good idea to use beta versions, I presume?

So I’m using these switches for future development……

I still have this problem with Version: 2022.1 (build 14299) and a Aeotec Z-Stick 5 where it only changes the led with the switch but in the ZWave control panel I can turn the outlet on and off
