Remotec ZXT-120US IR extender and Frigidaire A/C unit

We have a window-mounted Frigidaire A/C unit that came with an IR remote (manufacturer model no. RG15E/E-ELL; may also be compatible with RG15E/E-ELL1). We're trying to control it with a Remotec ZXT-120US IR extender, but are having zero luck with getting it working.
The ZXT-120 seems to be working, at least as far as Domoticz and OpenZWave are concerned. Here's what's been tried / verified so far:
Has anyone else run into this issue? I realise that learning mode may be my only option, but would prefer to not go that route if possible. The RG15E/E-ELL remote seems to be fairly common unit, so I'm hoping that someone with an A/C unit that also uses this remote has been here before and can advise.
The ZXT-120 seems to be working, at least as far as Domoticz and OpenZWave are concerned. Here's what's been tried / verified so far:
- ZXT-120 is running on USB power, not batteries, and is configured in 'Always Listening' mode
- Have tried all codes for Frigidaire as well as related manufacturers (Electrolux, General, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, White-Westinghouse)
- Can see the red activity LED on the ZXT-120 blinking when sending commands to it via OpenZWave
- Can see the IR LEDs fire when sending commands via OpenZWave (used phone camera to confirm)
- Manufacturer's remote controls the A/C unit without issue, so the IR receiver in the A/C unit is presumed working
- Tried with A/C unit already on in case the ZXT-120 wasn't waking it from being off; no luck
