Hi
I use a conbee on my raspberry with deconz. But since conbee doesnt have direct support in domoticz i use the phoscon software also.
But can i use the zigate directly in domoticz, just like I use the aeon z-wave stick, without any other software running on the pie?
Or do i need to use phoscon software for it to work?

The Zigate doesn't need any additional software except to have the Python Plugin installed, as it rely not on native Domoticz plugin but the Python plugin framework.

Re: Zigate support in domoticz?
Thank you very much for the quick reply, i have had a quick look at the zigate, but it seems like the zigate device isnt just plug and play?
Do i need to build the zigate device by myself and then program it before i can use it in domoticz?

Re: Zigate support in domoticz?
If you go for a USB-TTL Zigate, you will receive 3 components a USB-TTL module and a Zigbee Module, that you have to plug together. A 3rd part is provided which is the box where you can put the plugged USB-TTL+Zigbee module in it and the you have 2 screws to close the box.
So yes it is not plug and play, it is DIY, but in a very limited way.
Last, it might came a bit more complicated when it is about firmware update, as the Zigate has a firmware embedded and time to time you have to update it.

It is also easier to install and update if you use the packages, they are described in this thread:

Hi All. I just bought an Zigate and am very impressed with the workings and simplicity.
The working is almost the same as an Zwave stick. Only thing is you need to put some components together. Nothing difficult tough.
The site of Zigate is clear on how you should do this and install software.
