Do I need the Hue hub?

Do I need the Hue hub when I want to use hue lamps and switches? I think I don't need it and I connect the items direct to domoticz.
Same for IKEA hub.
Is this correct?

Hue and Ikea uses zigbee protocol. You’ll need a hub or USB dongle to connect with Domoticz. Be aware that not every item will work with every hub if you mix brands. Maybe you can do a search for how to use zigbee with Domoticz.

Then I need to connect a ikea hub and hue hub? Both use the same protocol.
Or just one of these hubs for IKEA and hue lamps?

you can use a brand independent zigbee controller like Zigate or deCONZ bridge which can control various zigbee devices

Check out the zigbee2mqtt project. It works well with domoticz with mixed brands. It is also very cheap and well supported by the community!

You always need a gateway, to permit 2 differents protocols speak one with the other. It's like for wifi and ethernet, in all case you need a wifi gateway, here it's same but it's for zigbee protocol.
You can take a constructor gateway like the ikea or philips one
Or you can take too "universal gateway" with more features but harder to use.
For the "universal gateway" you have "zigbee2mqtt" "zigate" and "deconz" all are working in domoticz, but they are all differents, so take a look on theses solutions, all of them have advantage and inconvenient, and there is so much differences (in hardware and software), better you take a look yourself according to your need.
