Found out that the Z-Stick dislike other frequency emitters nearby, it crumble the reach down.

1. My dualband wifi router although it look far away from 868Mhz.
2. Plastic covered switching psu, like the pi one

30cm seems to be the minimal keep out zone to avoid extreme crumbling. So my question for today is

Have someone played with a better antenna for z-wave? To open the stick and solder something better to the pins

My own gen5 stick is in the 10-20cm range from my wifi+wired router, because the PI3 is powered by the router USB port (using a short cable to avoid "low voltage" issues in the PI logs). No issues on my side.

I think this would be easier to use a 1m USB extension cable to be able to separate the stick from the radios of your router if they are not correctly filtered & you experience troubles out of their expected radio range.

Found out some emc hotspot that the pi fires into it's environment. So today i build it into a Icybox metal case for shielding, first experience is that the device collection after database backup is faster

You seem to have a really good router, my has no capability to serve 2.5 amps for the pi. So i use a copper shielded power supply.
