Motion sensors dont always indicate if you are at home unless you take them under the sheets with or to the bathroom.
I've tied a temp humidity sensor from Xiaomi to my keys. They are stored in a key box outside or we take them with us.
If the temp and humidity is within a few % of the indoor temp then we are at home.
If the temp and humidity is within a few % of the outdoor temp then the key is in the box outside
If not response for a period of time then the key has gone away i.e we are not at home.
At least thats the theory will let you know how it goes.
Note the humidity readings take a bit of time to adjust.
