I picked up a 2 pack of these since the price was right. They support energy monitoring as well.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0788W9TDR/

They use an app "Smart Life" on android (and i like iOS). The app initially named the plugs JL6000.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... e&hl=en_US

They report names like ESP_935E36 and ESP_94890D to my router.

Does anyone know if these are supported? I'd love to pull energy usage directly from them. And not relying on a 3rd party cloud to control them would be great.

You can try to flash Tasmota onto them with Tuya-Convert https://github.com/ct-Open-Source/tuya-convert. It takes only a couple of minutes. Check their wiki to see your device is supported or not (and also comb Tasmota's wiki/github).
