Universal remote & Domoticz: brands, types, tips?

Just a topic to ask for your advice, ideas and experiences
I'm thinking about buying an universal remote to control tv with it's settopbox. Been reading about the nice looking and expensive logitech devices. Seen the Rasptouch: not a remote but also nice to connect to my amplifier for audio streaming.
Cheap chinese remotes dont have a screen. Do I need a screen?
Forget about dedicated universal remote and use my android devices as remote with some Ir hub?
