SD card read-only

I could use your help. I recently tried to SD format a new SD card. But I got a warning that it was read-only. First I checked the little switch but that was oké. Then I use another adapter, same problem. It doesn't matter which adapter or which SD card I use. It still gives me the message that the card is read only. I searched the internet. Tried to edit the registry, no luck. Second option was using diskpart within a DOS prompt. But still no luck.
I am running out of options. Perhaps any of you have had the same issue and can help me with a working solution.
(I did search this forum but didn't find an answer).

Have you tried switching the lock to the side you think is wrong and tried a format then?

Did you use a USB-adapter to interface the SD-card to the PC's USB-port?
Personal experience that sometimes the SD-card and the USB-adapter 'do not like each other' for unclear reasons:
the PC pings when inserting the USB-adapter-with-SDcard, but subsequently nothing happens and the USB-adapter does not appear in the Explorer's survey.
Some fiddling with the insertion of the SD-card may help, because of brushing/making better & aligned contact on the electric interface.
Other simple remedy: try other USB-adapter until you find a working combination.

Not a really reliable segment of technology, more try-and-error ........

Didn't mentioned this one but yes even that I've tried.
I am going to fiddle some more... Thanks for the input.
