I'm lost: Smart Plugs/Smart Wall Switches & Compatibility

I've only had Domoticz running for a couple of months, mainly as a project to get some old X10 gear up and running. I've added HA bridge for Alexa compatibility, and now I want to add new hardware and I'm completely lost...

I'm in the US, so would require that outlet type. I see on Amazon all kinds of fairly inexpensive WiFi enabled wall switches and smart plugs that work directly with Alexa and even IFTTT (good) but I'm trying to find by searching the forums those that also are fairly straight forward to work with Domoticz as well.

...and that's my problem. Being so new I don't even have a brand or place to start. I have a very robust WiFi MESH system with excellent coverage everywhere on my property so something that uses it is preferred to something that is a hub that broadcasts a separate signal.

Does anyone have a suggesting to get me started?

I am using a Sonoff touch which can be controlled through Domoticz but also manual. They have many more options:
Sonoff touch

If you are interested search this forum, there is very good information available.

Thanks for the replies. Is the Sonoff (now) natively supposed in the latest release? The wiki seems to indicate that it needs a gateway.

In addition to the linked switches that you need to wire, I'm also looking at the S31 series that also do energy monitoring. Not so much for using the energy monitoring, but at least basic on/off with Domoticz would be nice!
