Had the same issue on a Rpi2 with Razberry which is used as a test rig where I had the same annoying issue with a device I couldn't get ride of. Solution for me was to download Z-Way and boot up on this image and from within the configuration I could get ride of this dead node.

Also, if you're doing this, you can use the Z-Way image to update the firmware of the Razberry hat as well.
