Is there a way to (re)load a current device specification from config directory where the XML files are into zwcfg_xxx.xml without excluding and including the device? I'm tweaking such configuration file and the ex-/include process is getting tedious.

I tried deleting the corresponding node from zwcfg_xxx.xml, but that didn't refresh anything and made the device unable to communicate (the device was sending (at least the LED was flashing), but the device in Domoticz was not updated (not the "last seen" time)).

On most devices you could simple short press the "include" knob.
Then you get a 'refresh' of the device data.
If not working, hold the device in vicinity to the controller en press again.

I'm afraid that does not work for me. The only button that the device has (and some other devices have the same logic), has 1-press to wake-up, 3-press to start include (if not included) and 3-press to start exclude (if included). So I really cannot "redo" the inclusion.

Try to include again as if it were 'new' (but don't exclude before it).
Controller will find existing device (id will not change) and initiate the config.

I can't. There's no way to initiate the inclusion process because there's no button sequence (3-button click) for it once the device is included.
