Domoticz

Hi all,

I hereby place a (basic) future request and hope more people have the same needs. If so, please confirm this request below or make a better suggestion to the request.

I noticed that a basic function such as displaying energy COSTS in a (dummy) device of other devices is not available. You would expect that such basic function would/could/should be part of domoticz. For sure most people nowadays wants to monitor their energy costs multiple times a day/week.

Please don't mix the function request with the (almost hidden) Report function in domoticz where you can monitor the costs for the full day energy usage. In my opinion this is too complex to find for monitoring the energy COSTS on daily basis.
I searched for this functions for months on google but noting is available for this (yet ).
Should this not be a basic function and enrichment on Domoticz?

I was thinking of the following requirement:
- a dummy device of a new type "Energy Costs" can be added and be connected to a existing energy device which is reporting in kWh
- in the dummy device itself the costs per : Hour, day, week, month, year can be chosen/selected
- Costs will be calculated by using the kWh costs in the settings page of domoticz

I agree! Strange that this is not a big request, would think a lot of domotica people would want this!

I used Toon to read my energy usage but since I do not have a subscription anymore I cant use this.
So, basically, I can develop something but cannot test. Does anyone have sample output with energy usage?

What info do you need?

Inside domoticz there is also an option to see a report with monthly costs. But it can be usefull to build an option inside dashticz where you can define the cost of gas and energy and that thd dashboard calculate the total cost per hour/day/month.

What kinda output do you need?
